RULES AND PROCEDURE OF REVIEWING MANUSCRIPTS OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

All scientific articles submitted to the editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of the Dagestan State Medical Academy" are subject to compulsory review.

The editor-in-chief, the deputy editor-in-chief and the executive secretary of the journal determine the correspondence of the article to the profile of the journal, the requirements for registration and send it for review to a specialist, a doctor of sciences who has the scientific specialization closest to the topic of the article.

Reviewers are notified that the manuscripts sent to them are private property of the authors and contain information that can not be disclosed. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of articles, the review is conducted confidentially.

The timing of the review is determined by the executive secretary of the journal.

The review should indicate: a) whether the content of the article corresponds to its title; b) to what extent the article corresponds to modern achievements in the field of science in question; c) what is the form of submission of the material, whether it corresponds to the content; d) is it expedient to publish the peer-reviewed work; e) what are the main advantages and disadvantages of the article.

The review is anonymous. The author of the article is given the opportunity to review the text of the review. Violation of anonymity is possible only in the case of a referee's statement about plagiarism or falsification of the material described in the article.

If the review contains recommendations for correcting and finalizing the article, the executive secretary of the journal sends the author the text of the review with a proposal to take into account the recommendations when preparing a new version of the article or to refute them in a reasoned manner. The article, revised by the author, is sent again for review.

In the event that the reviewer does not recommend an article for publication, the editorial board may direct the article for processing, taking into account the comments made, and also send it to another reviewer. The text of the negative review is sent to the author. The final decision to publish the article is taken by the editorial board of the journal and recorded in the minutes of the editorial board meeting.

After the acceptance of the editorial board's decision on the admission of the article to the publication, the responsible secretary of the journal informs the author about this and specifies the terms of publication. The text of the review is sent to the author.

Original reviews are stored in the editorial office of the journal for 5 years.
