Akhmedov Jalalutdin Rasulovich was born on July 20, 1947 in the village. Botashyurt, Khasavyurt region, DASSR. In 1970 he graduated from the medical faculty of the Dagestan State Medical Institute. In 1970-1971, he was an anesthesiologist at the Republican Clinical Hospital in Makhachkala. In 1971-1974. general practitioner at the city clinic, head of the infectious diseases department at the Central District Hospital in Buinaksk. In 1974-1984. – Head of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Central District Hospital of Buinaksk. In 1979-1983 – postgraduate student of correspondence studies at the Leningrad Sanitary and Hygienic Medical Institute. In 1984 he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Military Medical Academy named after. CM. Kirov (Leningrad). In 1984-1990 – assistant at the department of infectious diseases with epidemiology of the Dagestan State Medical Institute. In 1990-1991 – student of courses for training reserve specialists at WHO, RMAPO (Moscow). In 1991-1994 – doctoral student at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Moscow Medical and Dental Institute named after. ON THE. Semashko. In 1994, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Moscow) on the topic: “Clinico-pathogenetic significance of disorders of the antioxidant system, immune status and their correction in patients with typhoid fever and chronic typhoid bacteria carriers.” From 1995 to the present, he is the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases named after. acad. G.P. Rudnev Dagestan State Medical University. In 1996 he was awarded the title of professor.

Under his leadership, 12 candidate’s theses and 1 doctoral dissertation were defended, 5 doctoral and 4 candidate’s dissertations were carried out. Akhmedov D.R. is the author of 412 scientific works, of which 10 are textbooks, 2 monographs, 2 textbooks, 2 lectures on infectious diseases, 4 sections of the national manual on infectious diseases, 1 interdepartmental programs, 4 invention patents, rationalization proposals – 12. He organized and conducted 22 All-Russian and Republican scientific and practical conferences on topical issues with the publication of collections of works.

For 18 years he was the dean of the faculty of extra-budgetary education. In 2011, he was appointed vice-rector for scientific work of the DSMA. He is the Deputy Chairman of the University Dissertation Council. From 2013 to 2016, by order of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, he was appointed rector of the DSMA.

From 2014 to the present, he is the chief infectious disease specialist of the Institute of Health of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, a member of the Educational Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Since 2016, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Sovetsky District of Makhachkala.

Professor Akhmedov D.R. is the founder and editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed scientific and practical journal “Bulletin of the Dagestan State Medical Academy”, as well as a member of the editorial board of the journals “Infectious Diseases”, “Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases”.

Rubashova (1982), laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation (2012), “Excellence in Health Care of the USSR”; “Excellence in invention and rationalization of the USSR”; “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation”; “Honored Doctor of the Republic of Dagestan”, “Honored Scientist of the Republic of Dagestan”; silver medal of the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements, silver medal named after I.P. Pavlova, medal “For services to the DSMA”.
