Visampasha Yusupovich Khanaliev was born on January 20, 1958, in the village of Yangi-Aryk, Karasuu District, Osh Region, Kyrgyz SSR. He graduated from the Dagestan State Medical Institute in 1981. From 1982 to 1984, he served as the chief phthisiologist for extrapulmonary tuberculosis in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. From 1985 to 1988, he completed his postgraduate studies in phthisiology at the Central Tuberculosis Research Institute of the USSR (Moscow). From 1988 to 1991, he was an assistant in the Department of Phthisiology at the Dagestan State Medical Institute. In 1990, he defended his PhD dissertation. From 1992 to 2001, he served as Chief Physician of the Interdistrict Treatment and Diagnostic Center in Khasavyurt, Republic of Dagestan. In 1996, he entered the doctoral program at the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. In 1999, he defended his doctoral dissertation. From 2001 to 2016, he served as Deputy Director General for Medical Affairs at the N.I. Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center. Since 2016, he has headed the Department of Phthisiopulmonology at the Dagestan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. In December 2023, he was appointed Rector of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Dagestan State Medical University” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Under his supervision, one doctoral dissertation and two candidate dissertations were defended. V.Yu. Khanaliev is the author of 120 scientific and methodological works, including 14 textbooks and 106 scientific papers.
